What is the difference between timber, PVC and aluminium shutters?
Timber shutters use 100% premium basswood and give a warm, natural finish ideal for living areas and bedrooms. PVC shutters are waterproof and won't warp or rust, which makes them the practical choice for bathrooms, kitchens and wet areas. Aluminium shutters are rust-free and coastal approved, so they suit outdoor and exposed applications on the Gold Coast.
Are plantation shutters suitable for bathrooms and wet areas?
Yes — provided you choose the right material. PVC and aluminium shutters are waterproof and unaffected by humidity, so they are ideal for bathrooms, ensuites and laundries. Timber shutters are better suited to dry living spaces.
Can shutters be made for arched or unusually shaped windows?
Yes. We specialise in custom shaped shutters for arched, angled, triangular and porthole windows. Unlike curtains or blinds, shutters show off the shape of the window rather than covering it.
