What are Veri Shades?
Part curtain, part blind. They solve a problem that neither product handles perfectly on its own.

The problem they solve
Wide glass doors are awkward. A curtain looks soft but needs somewhere to stack back to, and on a three or four metre opening that is a lot of wall. A vertical blind handles the span easily but reads as commercial in a living room.
Veri Shades sit between the two. They are soft fabric vanes hung from a track, so they move like a curtain and stack back compactly, but they rotate like a vertical blind to control light and privacy.
How they work day to day
The vanes are unlined fabric, joined at the top by a track and free at the bottom, with no chains or weights hanging between them. You can walk straight through them, which matters enormously on a door you use constantly.
Rotating the vanes takes you from open view to daytime privacy without moving the shade itself. Sliding them back stacks them tightly to one side, clearing most of the glass.
Where they work best
- Sliding and stacker doors onto a patio or deck, where you walk through many times a day
- Wide living-room glass where a curtain would need too much stack space
- Rooms where you want softness without the formality of full drapes
- Homes with pets or children, since there are no cords, chains or hanging weights
What to know before you commit
They are a light-filtering product, not a blockout one. Rotated closed they give good daytime privacy and diffuse the light beautifully, but they are not the right choice if you need a room to go genuinely dark. In a bedroom people usually pair them with a blockout blind behind, or choose a different product entirely.
They also read best on wide openings. On a single small window they can look out of proportion, and a roller or Roman blind will usually suit better.

Can you see through Veri Shades at night?
With the lights on inside and the vanes closed you will get privacy in silhouette rather than full concealment, as with any light-filtering fabric. Where full night-time privacy or darkness matters, pair them with a blockout blind.
How do you clean Veri Shades?
The vanes can generally be removed from the track and gently laundered, which is one of their practical advantages over a hard blind. Check the care instructions for the specific fabric, as this varies by range.
